title Evaluation of the Use of Papaya Leaf Flour and Turmeric Flour on Consumption, Body Weight Gain and Free-range Chicken Feed Conversion.
This research was carried out in the field laboratory of the Faculty of Animal
Husbandry, Unikama, from November 2022 to January 2023. This research aims to
determine the benefits of papaya leaf flour and turmeric flour on consumption, body
weight gain and feed conversion for free-range chickens. The material used in this
research was 12 female village chickens aged 1 month with a body weight range of
227-247 grams. The method used in this research was a field experiment using a
Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments including P0
(100% concentrate), P1 (Concentrate + 10% papaya leaf flour), P2 (100%
concentrate + 2% flour turmeric) and P3 (100% concentrate + 10% papaya leaf
flour + 2% turmeric flour. Each treatment consisted of 3 repetitions. The variables
observed in this study were feed consumption, body weight gain and feed
conversion. The data obtained were analyzed using anova analysis, if there are
differences between treatments then proceed with the least significant difference
test (LSL). Based on the research results, it shows that there are very significant
differences (p < 0.01) in feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion and
the highest feed consumption in P3 with a value of 31.10 grams/head/day, the
highest body weight in P3 with a value 18.19 grams/head/day grams and the lowest
treatment feed conversion was at P3 with a value of 1.76. Based on the results, it
can be concluded that the use of 2% turmeric flour + 10% papaya leaf flour provides
the best value in feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion for freerange chickens
