External quality of chicken eggs from sub-agents at various storage periods at room temperature, PGRI Universitas Kanjuruhan Malang.
The material used in this study is purebred chicken eggs purchased from
one seller in the Breadfruit sub-agent, to be examined for external quality based
on medium size, which is 55-60g in weight. The research method is a laboratory
experiment using RAL (Complete Random Design). The treatment of the study
included the length of egg storage during (P0 = 0 days; P1 = 7 days; P2 =14 days;
P3 = 21 days; P4 = 28 days) with 4 repetitions. In each repetition using 3 eggs and
each treatment consists of 12 eggs, the number of eggs used is 60 eggs with an
average room temperature of 25-30°C. The variables observed in this study are
Egg weight, Egg index, Eggshell weight, Eggshell thickness. Based on the results
of the study showed that the duration of storage had a very real effect (P0.05). Egg index (P0=74.30%);
(P1=74.15%); (P2=74.27%) ;(P 3=74.20%); and (P4=74.17%); Shell weight
(P0=6.50g); (P1=5.90g); (P2=5.85g); (P3=5.85g); (P4=5.83g); shell thickness
(P0=0.35mm); (P1=0.35mm); (P2=0.34mm); (P3=0.34mm); (P4=034mm). Based
on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the storage of chicken eggs
purchased from sub-agents for up to 28 days at room temperature still meets the
external quality standards of eggs. The suggestions that can be conveyed to the
next researcher for further research related to the internal quality of eggs
purchased from one seller with a storage period in order to determine the quality
of internal egg eggs up to 28 days.
