“Review of Research Journal : The Effect of The Use of Various Additives on The Quality of Silage.”
This study aims to determine the effect of various additives on silage
quality. The material used in this study is a reference/ research journal related to
additives as additives for ruminant feed fermentation. This research method was
carried out through a comprehensive meta-analysis. The research variables
observed were the physical characteristics of silage including color, smell, pH,
presence of fungi and ammonia levels. Based on data from research journals. The
results of data analysis showed that there was an influence in the addition of
various additives to the quality of silage. The addition of additives affects the
color of silage starting from close to the original color, yellowish green, brownish
green, dark brown, and blackish. The smell of sour silage. The level of acidity pH
average - 3.56 ± 2.21. Fungal growth on silage was caused by aerobic conditions.
The ammonia content of silage is low.The results showed that the addition of
various additives could change the physical properties of silage according to the
material used
