An Analysis of Moral Values in the “Front of the Class” Movie

Literature is a form of one's ideas through a view of the social
environment, which is around them by using beautiful language. Literature was
born as a result of the author's contemplation of existing phenomena. As a work of
fiction, literature has a deeper understanding and is not just an imaginary story or
the imagination of the author. The aim of the study is to describe the moral values
of the “Front of the Class” movie. This movie is chosen to be analyzed because
this movie conceives valuable messages. The researcher tries to analyze the moral
values of all the characters from the movie.
The researcher conducted research by watching the movie "Front of the
Class" several times and also reading the film script. The study employed a
descriptive qualitative design. Descriptive qualitative design is used to describe
and explain what has been interpreted from the research object. The researcher
processed the data in the form of dialogue text from the film script. The data
analysis process included data reduction, data display, conclusion/verification, and
triangulation. The data gathered were then verified by an expert validator.
The result of this study showed that the movie conveyed some of the moral
values. From the researcher's analysis, it can be concluded that the moral values
found in this movie were: peaceability, self-discipline, honesty, confidence,
sensitivity, courage, love, respect, never give up, Self-reliance, Kindness and
Friendliness”.
In conclusion, the researcher hopes that these moral values can be applied
in our daily life and finally may give inspiration to people around us. For the
readers, hopefully, these findings can be implemented as a directive in daily life.
