Evaluasi Keberhasilan Inseminasi Buatan pada Sapi Potong di Wilayah Kecamatan Nguling Kabupaten Pasuruan
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the success rate of artificial
insemination in beef cattle in Pasuruan Regency. The area used in the research to
evaluate the success of artificial insemination is the Nguling District of Pasuruan
Regency where the research was conducted in August 2 – October 4, 2023. The
Nguling sub-district area has the largest beef cattle population in Pasuruan district.
The population of beef cattle in Nguling sub-district is 11,414 heads. The sample
that became the object of observation in this study were farmers who owned 2 - 3
female cows aged 3 - 4 years in the Nguling District of Pasuruan Regency, totaling
298 people. Sampling is based on the fertility level of livestock which is influenced
by age, the older the parent, the better the reproduction compared to younger
parents. This research used case study method where primary data were obtained
from recording inseminator with direct observation. The variables observed in this
study are service per conception (S/C), conception rate (CR) and Non Return Rate
(NRR) in beef cattle after mating with artificial insemination. This research uses
descriptive quantitative data analysis techniques. The researcher used a
questionnaire as a data collection tool, then the processed results, in the form of
numbers, were further developed using descriptives which were studied using a
literature review. Based on the results of data analysis, the calculation of Service
per Conseption (S/C) is 1.31, while based on Coception Rate (CR) is 73.81% and
Non Return Rate (NRR) is 71.63%. Based on the research results, it can be
concluded that the results of the evaluation of the success of artificial insemination
in the Nguling District area are good. The improvement in beef cattle production
performance in the Nguling sub-district area cannot be separated from the role of
breeders, inseminator officers and related parties who always support in realizing
the meat self-sufficiency program.
