Students perception on Online learning using the Zoom application in English Classes

Today people live in the age of globalization or can also be called the era
of modernization. Modernization covers many fields, for example in the fields of
science and techology, humans are very dependent on technoloy. This makes
technology a basic need for everyone, from parents to young people, experts to
lay people, and uses techology in various aspects of their lives. The research is to
What are the Students’ perception on online learning using zoom application to
support in English classes.
The researcher used descriptive qualitative method to conduct this study.
The researcher used that method because intended to collect qualitative data.
Qualitative method as research that produce descriptive data in the form of written
or spoken words from people and observed behavior. The resulting data are in the
form of words or pictures. This study involves the students of English Education
Department year 2021 with 15 and 2022 intake with15 at PGRI Kanjuruhan
University with a total 30 students. The researcher chooses students of English
Education Department 2021 and 2022 intake because they already had
experiences on using zoom application.
These result indicate that most students agree that they are satisfied with
Zoom application and would recommend Zoom application to be used in other
appropriate subjects. Thus, it can be concluded that Zoom application can provide
benefits for students. These results were dominant with the data obtained from
interviews conducted by researchers. The four indicator explored included : Ease
of Access, Perceived usefulness, usage challenges, and students satisfaction.
This research is expected to benefit other researchers and as a reference or
inspiration to conduct further research related to this field.
