Vocabulary is a major component of language learning has been the object of
numerous studies each of which has its contribution to the field. However, lexical problems frequently interfere with communication; in other words, communication breaks down when people do not use the right words. Therefore, there is an increased interest in vocabulary as a component of every language. Technology has become one of the most powerful tools of acceptance of English. Digital equipment and platforms serve various native English sources to individual learners and free them from a traditional teaching approach. To implicate students with interesting design strategies and direct online teaching. This study proposed Quizlet as digital media in teaching vocabulary mastery by using Zoom meeting application at elementary school. The objective of this research is to investigate whether the use of digital flashcards as teaching media provides a positive significant effect on the students’ vocabulary mastery.

This study was classified as a quasi-experimental design. The study is conducted at SDN Kotalama 02 Malang in the academic year of 2020/2021. There were two groups of students who were compared in this study: the experimental group and the control group with the different treatments. The experimental group had digital flashcards as teaching media with the Quizlet application. For the control group, the researcher used an English textbook the teaching media mostly used in the class by the teacher and the students. There were 4 meetings for each class. The study was limited to the students of fourth grade consisting of two classes: 4A (N=26) and 4B (N=28). The data was collected through pre-test and post-test.

Based on the findings of data analysis, there was a significant difference between students’ scores who were taught by using digital flashcards and those who were taught by using an English textbook. The result of statistical analysis was t 0.00 or t< 0.05, which means that the use of digital flashcards provides a positive effect on students’ vocabulary mastery. The digital flashcards make the students easily understand the materials in learning vocabulary is improved.
