The Effevtivenes Of Digital Stotytelling On Students' Writing Skill
In order to solve the students’ problem and enhance their writing ability, a
teacher has to be able to provide some techniques that can involve students in
practicing writing and also give motivation. Teachers should help their students by
establishing strategies to manage all forms of communication to ensure that all
students have fair and equitable opportunities to develop their interpersonal writing
e.g. taught using digital storytelling.
This study used an experimental research design and was conducted in
conducted at first grade of SMAK Bhakti Luhur in academic year 2020/2021. The
population of this research is all the first grade students of SMAK Bhakti Luhur.
There are 2 classes in the first grade. The total numbers of the first grade students
are 47 students. The samples were recommended by the English teacher. The data of
this study were taken through test in form of pre-test and post-test. The calculation
of the data was done using SPSS 20 Version.
Based on the data analysis, the students who were taught by using digital
storytelling technique through narrative text had better achievement than the
students who were taught by using conventional technique. It can be seen from the
result of t-test for post-test . The t score was 8,67; this had a significant value less
than 0.05, which means that Ha (alternative hypothesis) is accepted. In other word,
the use of digital storytelling technique provides positive significant effect on the
students’ writing skill.
Teacher has important role in developing the students’ ability in writing.
Therefore, choosing an appropriate strategy is highly suggested. A strategy that
provides opportunity for students to write up is seen to be effective in learning
writing. Therefore, this study provides some suggestions.
