The Analysis Of Students' Perception On The Use Of e-Learning As An Educational Method
The entry of technology in the field of education has changed the teaching and learning process. With the rapid development of technology, the teaching and learning process can be carried out using the internet with the support of electronic media without face-to-face contact, or this method is known as Elearning. The purpose of this study was to determine students' views on the use of E-learning, especially the benefits and challenges that must be faced while using this method.
The researcher used qualitative methods to conduct this research. The subjects of this study were students of the English Education Department, Universitas PGRI Kanjuruhan Malang 2019 intake. The research instruments are questionnaires and interviews. In analyzing the data, the researcher carried out data reduction, data display, conclusion, and data verification. The data validity used by the researcher is the triangulation technique.
The results of this study indicate that most students have experience using E-learning, this is also supported by available facilities such as laboratories & computer libraries equipped with internet access, educational websites, and access to E-journals. The benefits that students feel about using E-learning are that Elearning is useful and interesting to use because students can gain knowledge from more sources on the internet without having to be physically present in class, adding new knowledge about technology that has never been obtained before, Elearning is an interactive mode and courses are available online so that students can still communicate through the provided platforms such as zoom meetings and google meet, students can re-learn the material that has been given by the teacher in the form of E-learning, E-learning is cost-effective because it is easy to use
anywhere and at any time, the use of E-learning can also improve performance because it is more efficient and faster. As for the challenges, namely the availability of limited internet access, lack of interaction, reduced student motivation, students find it difficult to understand lessons, and the use of Elearning also makes students feel disturbed due to external and internal factors, and students have difficulty adapting to new E-learning technology newer due to lack of previous guidelines.
It can be concluded that students showed a positive response to the use of E-learning. The researcher hopes that this research can provide benefits for other researchers and as a reference or inspiration to conduct further research related to this field.
