Pengaruh Umur Rumput Odot (Pennisetum Purpureum CV- Mott) Dengan Aditif Pollard Terhadap Kualitas SIlase

Forage is one of the determining factors in the development of livestock businesses, especially for ruminants. the availability of forage in Indonesia is very volatile. Odot grass (Pennisetum purpureum Cv. Mott) is a type of superior grass that has high productivity and good nutritional content. Animal feed technology with silage making can preserve and improve the nutritional quality of feed. Pollard is one of the additives in silage making. This study aims to determine the effect of the age of odot grass (Pennisetum purpureum Cv. Mott) with pollard additives on silage quality. This study used a randomized block design (CRD) with three treatments and ten replications. Analysis of the physical quality of silage on day 21. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the cutting age of odot grass with the addition of 20% pollard additive has a very significant effect (P> 0.01) on pH and does not have a significant effect on color odor, texture, presence of mold. The pH P3 variable gives the best results with an average value of 4.394
