Analysis Of Characterization Of The Main Characters in "Million Dollar Dream" Film By Albertheine Endah

Characterization in literature is the process the author uses to develop
characters and create images of characters for the audience. This study aims to
analyze the characterization of the main characters in the "Million Dollar Dream"
film. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characterization of the main
character and to analyze the factors that influence the main character.
In this study, the researchers used qualitative methods. The results of the
study prove that there are two main characters in the Million Dollar Dream film,
namely Merry and Alfa. There are several data on Merry and Alfa characters, the
results of the data contained in Merry characters are submissive, cheerful, honest,
caring, sparing, persistent, brave, enthusiastic, hardworking, while the Alfa
character has smart, caring, and firm characters. And the results of the study
prove that the main characters have similarities in the factors that affect their
lives, namely the economy. And also research gets characterizations through
dialogue and action.
English Teachers can use this research as a reference material in teaching,
especially in teaching about analyzing the characterization of the main characters
in a film. This film is an excellent resource for students with an interest in literary
languages. By watching this film, we can improve our understanding of language;
we can also find the types of life lessons that contain the spirit of learning in the
struggle that experiences patience in the struggle. The results of this study can be
useful for the future and can be used as reference material related to the analysis
of the characterization of the main characters in the film.
