An Analysis Of Figurative Language In Camila Cabellos Song
In teaching English, reading is one of four important skills that must be learned by the students whose learning about English. The aim of this study is to improve the students’ reading comprehension by using student teams-achievement divisions (STAD) technique. The study of this research conducted at MTs Al-Khoirot Pagelaran in April – May 2019. The population of the study was the second grade 8-A class students in 2018/2019’s academic year. There are 31 male-students in 8-A class. The method of this study was classroom action research. The instruments were used test, questionnaire, and observation checklist. This research was done in 2 cycles. Each cycle consisted of two meetings and a test in the end of each cycle to measure the results and showed the improvement in reading comprehension of narrative text. The mean score in the test result cycle 1 was 70, which is the score from test result in cycle 1 still under the minimum passing scores (KKM). In the test result of cycle 2 the mean scores of the students improved reached 77. The result shows that STAD technique could improve the students’ reading comprehension in narrative text.
