The Effectivenness Of Using Tic Tac Toe Game Tow Ards Student' Grammar Mastery
This research is an experimental research using Tic Tac Toe Game in Learning English especially on grammar mastery. Tic Tac Toe is a simple board game by combining English component. If this game is played optimally by both players, it will make a line. The focus of this research is to find out: (1) the effectiveness of Tic Tac Toe Game towards students’ grammar mastery, and (2) students’ perception on using Tic Tac Toe game in learning grammar. This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of using Tic Tac Toe Game towards students’ grammar mastery. In particular, this study purposed to examine the result of test before and after treatments was given. And the students’ perceptions will be analyzed by the result of questionnaires. This research used a quasi-experimental research method. The sources of data were the score of pre-test and post-test. The research is conducted in the experimental and control group. In this study, the main instrument is test and the supporting is questionnaire. The steps
are begun by giving pre-test, conducting treatments, and giving post-test. The data analyzed by using SPSS 21 programs. It purposed to find out the effectiveness of Tic Tac Toe Game on students’ grammar mastery. The result of this study found that Tic Tac Toe Game is effective on students’ grammar mastery. In addition, Tic Tac Toe Game also affects and motivates students’ learning interest in learning through their competitive feelings. The results of this study related to two research problem formulas, (1) Tic Tac Toe Game is effective towards students’ grammar mastery. (2) Tic Tac Toe Game influenced the aspect of students’ knowledge; it is referred to the students’ comprehension on the grammar material and also the motivation aspect. The results of the study are expected to be useful as a medium to measure
the effectiveness of using Tic Tac Toe Game towards students’ grammar mastery. Teaching grammar is not as complicated as what people commonly think. This study would be interested and fun if the teacher use an appropriate media for teaching
