Improving Students’ Writing Skill By Using Graphic Organizers Technique At Eight Grade Of SMPK YBPK Sitiarjo Malang
The study focuses on improving students’ writing skill by using graphic organizers technique in writing descriptive text. The purpose of this study were to give description about how graphic organizers technique could be applied in teaching learning writing descriptive text.
This study was classroom action research. It consisted of two cycle. The students were given some treatments and writing tests in order to obtain a description about students’ ability in writing descriptive text. This study was held in SMPK YBPK Sitiarjo Malang on eight grade students in the academic year of 2015/2016. The instruments that are in this research are observation checklist, questionnaire, and writing test.
Based on the research results, the application of learning writing skill (descriptive text) by using graphic organizers has improved. In the end of cycle 2, the result of post test show that there are 25 students (100%) who pass the KKM, there are also 100% of students understand the material, 100% of students thought that graphic organizers made them easily in making descriptive text, 81,6% of students think that graphic organizers make them more creative in creating descriptive text. In addition students’ responses to learning are generally positive.
Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the application of the graphic organizers technique can improve students’ writing skill of eight grade at SMPK YBPK Sitiarjo Malang
