The Use Of Games In Teaching Vocabulary On Students Of Kindergarten At R KB-TK NBI Tlogowaru Of Malang
In learning language, vocabulary has an important role because it carries contents to convey ideas or information. Vocabulary should be recognized as a central element in language instruction from the beginning stage, that is kindergarten. The objective of studying English vocabulary in kindergarten is for students to have English reading, speaking and writing skill in the end of their study preparing them for elementary school up to university. In teaching vocabulary in kindergarten, our technique must be interesting and useful, one of several techniques is using game. The purposes of this study are: (1) To describe the kinds of games are used by the teacher in teaching English especially vocabulary at R KB-TK NBI Tlogowaru (2) To describe how the teacher implements games in teaching English especially vocabulary (3) To know the problems of the teacher in teaching English especially vocabulary
This study is a descriptive qualitative, it is conducted at R KB-TK NBI Tlogowaru of Malang. The researcher is the main instrument to collect the data about the games used by the teacher in teaching vocabulary to students in class B3 at R KB-TK NBI Tlogowaru. The data is collected through observation and interview and they are analyzed descriptively. The kinds of games are used by the teacher are Matching Pair, Spelling Letter, Rolling Ball, Scramble Word and Bingo. How the teacher implements the game was as follows: The steps of Matching Pair game, Spelling Letter game, Rolling Ball game, Scramble Word game and Bingo game have described completely in chapter four. There are many problems in teaching vocabulary on students of kindergarten using games are noisy, confusion about the rules and time periods. For the English teacher the suggestions are: (1) to understand personality and characteristics of students (2) giving clear instruction to the students by looking characteristics of students (3) to increase discipline of students in the classroom by giving attitude of sympathetic and openness.
The suggestions for other researcher are: (1) conducting a study which focuses on the improvement of English teacher’s personality (2) correlation between problems and development of students in the kindergarten.
