The Analysis Of The Social Message In One Direction’s Album “Up All Night”

Literature is significant to our life because it gives us significant information and knowledge. And literature is not only giving us some information and knowledge but also entertains and educates the readers, listeners or audiences with the beautiful art. Human being needs literature for having pleasure to express their feeling and their attitude for life. Even some people also express their feeling by creating songs. The statement influences many people to be able to deliver their feeling through singing but sometimes it is hard to understand. It causes many people unable to understand about the meaning and messages of the songs that the composer wants to send to the listener. Because of those reasons the researcher chose this thesis and tried to explain the lyric and find the messages of the song which is enjoyable and can also give us useful experience.
This thesis is intended to find out the meaning and messages in the lyrics of One Direction‟s album “UP ALL NIGHT”. The researcher hopes that this thesis can be useful for the readers, the lecturers, and the researcher herself. This study talks about the content of One Direction‟s songs album where he gets the inspiration and why this song was created, and also the biography of One Direction, and the social messages from that songs. This song explains the imagine and the experience‟s the writer which happens in their life so this is a good way of studying. Here we can get more than just language but also able to learn and realize what happen in this song, because this song has a deep meaning and this song is created for people especially woman. Based on the result of the study, the researcher found there were many factors that we can take from One Direction‟s songs, for example, the spirit of boy to find the girl who loves. The lyric of that song is very suitable with the daily life. That can make other people feel about love. In this study, the researcher uses a descriptive qualitative research which attempts to describe the social messages in One Direction‟s album “UP ALL NIGHT”.
The researcher finds some social messages in this song through two analysis. They are from general meaning and detailed meaning analysis. The researcher can conclude that actually, this song really has some social messages.
Finally, every song or poetry has moral teaching to educate the readers. The moral teaching in One Direction‟s album “UP ALL NIGHT” is simplicity and true love. That equality for human being should be kept and applied in love and modern society
The researcher suggests for the further researchers who want to analyze the same literature that they must add other theories from other sources which are not included in this thesis
